THE IDEAL WRAPPING FORCE

There is good reason why you wrap your pallets: you want to be assured your goods arrive at their destination undamaged. If the load is wrapped the wrong way, with the wrong wrapping force, the goods can still become damaged, and research shows that this actually happens for 4 percent of goods shipped on pallets.

The magic word here is the wrapping force. You can achieve pallet stability with the right wrapping force. Pallet stability is essential for the safe transport of goods. The right wrapping force is achieved by a combination of wrapping film with precisely the right elasticity, the right number of film wrap arounds, and a wrapping machine with the right settings.

THE 7-STEP AUDIT MODEL

An important factor is the pressure the film exerts on the load. But how can you be sure that the film is wrapped around the load with the right wrapping force, so that the goods do not become damaged? In short: this takes time and a great deal of experimentation. At Trioworld, our experts have already done all of this! We ensure that the machine is adjusted to the right settings and that optimal stretch film is used so that an optimal stretch force can be applied.
We use a method to measure the holding force of a pallet. This method consists of an elaborate international step-by-step plan; a model that can be applied
for all customers: the 7-Step Audit Model. We have been using this model for several decades at Trioworld to ensure that our stretch film fully comes into its own at the customer.
We go through a process consisting of seven steps (no surprise here) to ensure that the pallets are stable and comply with laws and regulations, and meet safety and sustainability requirements. The seven steps are explained below.

THE 7-STEP STEPS

Step 1 is a situation analysis to identify the type of film that would qualify to successfully complete the process.

In Step 2, we optimise the wrapping machine so that the film is optimally used. If necessary, we will change the machine’s settings. In addition, we ensure that the film does not cause any disruption of the wrapping process.

In Step 3, we record the settings used. This gives us a reference document that can be used to review a specific situation.

Step 4. Once a setting has been established, we continue to check that setting on a regular basis in accordance with a mutually agreed upon frequency.

In Step 5, we implement a training programme for the operator of the customer’s machines.

In Step 6, we clarify the cost savings we achieved on the basis of the previous steps.

Step 7: our Helpdesk. Customers can always contact us about a new product or with questions about ongoing projects.

Our challenge: wrapping your goods firmly on the pallet with the right pallet wrapping film that does not damage your goods, as a result of which they arrive at their destination undamaged. Wrapping a pallet as stable as possible is directly linked to safety: pallets do not tip over and your goods arrive at their destination without any damage.

That is the strength of the 7-Step Audit Model: less damage, lower consumption, fewer stoppages. Do not hesitate to ask us for a 7 Step Audit!
